Forte Migration Assessment

Migration Assessment is one of the most important steps in the Forte migration project. The main goals of the assessment are to gather more information on the Forte application, decide on the target platform, develop a high-level understanding on the migrated application and determine the factors that impact the migration from Forte.

Some of the deliverables from an assessment are:

• current state of the Forte application
• choice of target platform (Java/.NET)
• desired end state of the migrated application
• high-level migration strategy
• high-level migration project plan
• impact of architectural differences
• interface with existing applications
• leverage existing in-house technology
• ongoing maintenance to the Forte application
• changes in the Forte application during migration

Agile ITP's methodology and automated tools like F2JDiagnostics/F2NDiagnostics ensures that a thorough assessment of your Forte application will be performed. At the end of the assessment period (typically 4 to 6 weeks), Agile ITP will deliver a detailed application assessment document which will form the basis for the rest of the Forte migration project.
